THANKSGIVING!!!!! 2009

IT'S THE HOLIDAY SEASON!!
My in-laws came to visit Michael and I for an early Thanksgiving! BH and DH came in town to visit us early so they could spend the real Thanksgiving Day with Michael's sisters and all their grandchildren. We enjoyed having them here-we love when people come to visit us-Michael and I took them to a hockey game on Saturday night and we also went to see the Festival of Lights with RM and SM. After church on Sunday, we had our Thanksgiving feast with the TURKEY and all the good stuff; it was soooo good! The Festival of Lights is always a fun place to go, we roasted marshmallows over the fire pit and of course set them on fire so they were nice and crispy, YUMMY!!! Although it was a short visit we enjoyed spending time with Michael's parents and especially playing UNO at night.

The Coastal Carolina Fair Whoo Who!!

Finally, I have some time to blog about our recent trip to the fair. We went Monday night after my class, so we didn't have much time to do anything but grab some good fair food and find a spot to watch the Tracy Byrd concert. Michael and I both enjoy listening to country music, it brings back so
many memories for both of us; not necessarily together; but good memories none the less. Tracy Byrd's classic "The Watermelon Crawl" was my favorite and we got up and sang it as loud as we could. So... its time to talk about the food-I don't know about you but we love some good fair food and its ok to eat that greasy stuff because we only get to eat it once a year. Michael had a corn dog and a elephant ear(his fav) and of course a candy apple with nuts. I had a corn dog and the sugareist lemonade on the planet as well as my fav, the best pretzel in the world dipped in butter and garlic, YUM YUM!!!!!! We go again tomorrow night to do all the other stuff and to watch Julianne Hough perform!

We raised our banner in the coliseum on Friday night and they showed highlights of the last season when we WON; it was very special and exciting! And of course we won our home opener and it looks like this season is going to be a fun one!!!

Sixth Wedding Anniversary!

It all began on a summer night about 13 years ago when I met my future husband, he came over to hang out with my family and wanted to go for a ride on the 4-wheeler. I told him that I would take him, and he didn't know about that b/c he thought I was the neighbor from down the street; I finally convinced him to go for a ride with me and sped off real fast. I stopped a little bit down the driveway and asked what his name was, then went as fast as I could through the pasture, Michael thought I just wanted to know his name before I killed him on the 4-wheeler; but I just liked to go fast. Thats how our friendship developed and today we celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. I really can't believe its been six years already, it feels like maybe two years at the most. Michael and I moved to Charleston after just five months of marriage, and it has been the best decision that we made thus far in our marriage, we truly love living here, and love all the new adventures we encounter throughout our marriage thus far. Anyway, for our anniversary we slept in (which is our very favorite thing to do) and then we went for a walk to workout on the golf course just down from our house, it was so pretty, the path went over bridges and weaved around to the marsh and the intracoastal waterway. We were looking over the marsh when a storm cloud came over and started to down pour, we found a huge oak tree to stand under, it kept us dry until the second down pour and then we were soaked and about 3 miles from home. We just stood under the tree watching the storm clouds move in over the marsh and laughed and talked; despite getting drenched it was a memory I will never forget. So, then we walked home in the rain and got ready to go out for our dinner reservation. We went to the restaurant Blossom, and enjoyed a 3 course meal, and then went to the imax theater and watched The Couples Retreat; which was hilarious. After the movie, we walked around downtown until I couldn't walk anymore b/c of the four inch heels I was wearing. We got home late and then celebrated some more!!!

I am having a great weekend; mostly because I don't have to work. Michael and I went to the Citadel football game on Saturday afternoon, although it was really hot, we had a good time and the citadel cadets on the field before the game was neat. I just love the days were you never have to look at the clock and no one is expecting anything out of you-perfect weekend! Later on we went for a walk around waterfront park in downtown Charleston and found a swing (which is never open), but there was vomit all over it ewwwww; so we just found a place by the water and watched the lighthouse lights and the ships coming in and out of the Charleston Harbor. We went for a Sunday drive with Harbor and found some really cool places on the marsh to just sit and relax. I got a little carried away with the camera and took a lot of pictures of Harbor.

Harbor's hair cut

Today, Harbor went to the groomers and got his hair cut. I love when he gets to go because he is just so cute when we get him back. Today was especially fun because Michael and I had the day off together, as we do every Monday(fun day), and even though we had a lot of errands to do; we got up early and took Harbor to the groomers and had a fun day just hanging out while getting new tires for my car and oil change for Michael's car. Anyway its time for Monday night FOOTBALL and the PANTHERS play the cowboys, so gotta go--LETS GO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!

First Workout Class

Some girls from work wanted to get together to take a workout class, we had our first class and it was awesome; but very exhausting. I never had so much fun working out before! I had trouble opening the safety tops on the prescription bottles after the class; oh well thats how I knew it was a good class. Anyway it was so much fun and a good bonding experience for me and my girls. Although I do have to say one of the girls JB was stretching in front of me on her yoga mat and I saw way more of her then I ever wanted to. Ha Ha
The class goes for 4 weeks and I can't wait for next week.
